Very good read!

This is my first book by K Carr and although there were a few typos, I am impressed. I laughed and cried, got really angry and sometimes irritated, but that's the beauty of a well written book. Anytime you can feel genuine emotion from the written word is a win for me. Beautiful yin and yang feeling throughout this story. It was sexy and the chemistry perfect. I love instant attraction and was very happy to see this intimacy played out from the beginning. I don't know much about English culture, but author was dead on in her portrayal of the typical black female and family interaction. I loved that she showed the insecurities in both main characters and the hero's determination to make things right by addressing issues head on. True Alpha Male. I loved that the heroine was strong and outspoken, but was delighted that the author showed her vulnerabilities in such a sweet way and not taking away from the idea of a strong and intelligent black female.

Can't wait for book 2 and would read anything by this author.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVED IT!

Once in awhile there is a book that comes along that is just a breath of fresh air. ...this is that book. It's laugh out loud funny and it's tears to your eyes sad. Madi is neurotic and insecure and that's because of the way she was brought up by that trifling, hypocritical aunt and farce of a family. However, those same trait makes her funny and absolutely adorable. Mat is just alpha male first class and together their chemistry is amazing. Even though there is a age difference, (I don't think it's a big deal) they compliment each other. She needs a man in her life, not a boy which Dante obviously is. The relationship between her and Mat isn't fill with pages and pages of pointless sex scene, it's more about their growing love and passion for each other. I love the positive change they bring to each others lives. Looking forward to The Second Volume..... please let there be some more showdown with her and grumps. ...they were hilarious!!!!!!!!!

Can't hardly contain my excitement!!!!

I absolutely love this story. I have followed this author faithfully from when she first started writing this story on another site. The story has so many different elements to it, which makes the story blend beautifully together. The main characters, Matt and Madi, chemistry is charming! They give you a sense of corkiness between them that just makes you fall in love with them. A true opposites attract sort of vibe. I have always like how Madi was written simply due to how personable the author illustrates her character. Matt just oozes a certain kind of sexiness through his confidence, assertiveness, and sex appeal. Every time I read this story, I always picture myself living in London because of how imaginative she makes the story. I look forward to future works from this author and I have full faith she will continue to wow us with great work!!!

Super Histo Text for Medical Students

This book doesn't assume that you have an extensive background. The first year medical student who was a liberal arts major can read through this book once and know histology as good (or better) than a student with a master's degree in anatomy! The chapters flow very logically, allowing the reader to make the all-important integration of various regions of the body and the processes/histology associated with them. Furthermore, every page has photomicrographs and/or drawings which allow the reader to have not only a more complete understanding of the material, but a clinically useful knowledge of the proper appearance of tissues. This book leaves nothing out and is, at least at the medical school I attend, unanimously agreed to be the best histo book available.

The best Histology book that I've found.

This Histology book is the most thorough and well-written text out there. If you have no background in Histology, this book can be quite intimidating because it is content-rich. I was very overwhelmed when I first started with this book for undergrad, but now that I have gotten through it and read other titles for med school, I believe that this book is the best. It teaches Histology in a way that prepares you to be a real pathologist, using mostly light micrographs and tons of clinical correlations. Other Histology texts (e.g. Color Textbook of Histology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access) treat the subject as a general learning tool rather than as a core component of your potential specialty. They use more (and less-detailed) illustrations and electron micrographs with fewer clinical correlations and light micrographs.

Still, I would be hard-pressed to recommend this book to medical students if the book was not already required. It is probably more detailed than any medical school Histology course will be, and as a med student, your time is everything! Your time will probably be better spent in gross. Still, if you know that pathology is something you are interested in, this book is a great introduction to Histology and will better prepare you for your career than any other text.

Good Text, Needs more diagrams

This is a good histology text to read and understand. It has not only structural descriptions, but has related physiology and this makes the book interesting to read. With mastering histology in the first year of the medical school, pathology would be easy to learn in the future. This book makes histology a more interesting subject.
Advantages:
1.Lucid style in writing
2.Sentence type headings makes the essence of the following text very clear.
3.Most of the details that you need in the histology course could be found in this single volume.
4.Atlas is separately included in the end of every chapter other than the regular diagrams between the texts.
Disadvantages:
1.Lack of line diagrams- without a good number of line diagrams it would be difficult to grasp the material for a normal student like me.
2.No clear chapter outline in the beginning of each chapter. The Wheater's histology has an edge over this in this aspect.

The kingdom of God

This will not be a best seller as its message does not sit well with modern western Christianity. As a Christian you owe it to yourself to read this book because, if Wayne is correct, there will be some very unpleasant surprises come judgement day. Bottom line is that we are either in the kingdom of god or the kingdom of this world and don't fool yourself by saying you are part of god's kingdom if you live a lifestyle and display the fruits of the worldly kingdom. The importance of seeking first the kingdom is put forward forcefully but not in a radical or legalistic way.

Succinct and Helpful Description of the Kingdom of God

One of the greatest weaknesses of the church today is our neglect of "The Gospel of the Kingdom". Evangelical churches teach part of the gospel and what they teach is true - but it's not the whole truth. Churches teach the gospel of salvation, but they do not reference that this salvation only comes from accepting Jesus' gracious invitation into the Kingdom of God. Churches also do not spend enough time show believers how to live their lives in the context of the Kingdom of God.

I am not pointing a finger at the church, because I spent a significant portion of my pastoral career doing this. Wayne Barrett is not part of my journey of becoming a preacher of the gospel of the Kingdom. He does a great job of introducing us to the Kingdom of God and what life in this Kingdom is like. He does a great job of focusing on the Church (with a capital "c") and his section on the spiritual gifts is valuable.

My only negative about the book is a small one. I found myself wishing at a few points that Barrett went into more detail. This, however, should not keep you from reading this book. If you are trying to gain an introductory understanding of the Kingdom of God, than this book will be very helpful. If you already a student of the Kingdom of God, you will find some helpful insights.

Every so call Christian must read

This book will open your eyes on what is the real Kingdom of God. I pray that you take the time to find the truth. Obey God, read his word daily and you will gain strength over the evil one with Christ help.
