Fire and wind available to all

Jim Cymbala speaks not only from the heart but best of all from experience. Experience that has proved both difficult and rewarding for the ministry he and his wife have led at the Broklyn Tabernacle.
We are transported to the early days of Cymbala's ministry and take through every major decision that has shaped the direction his ministry has taken over the years. We feel the pain and the joy of all the experiences as he shares with us from first person.
The examples that he uses take us from tears of sadness to tears of joy as many people share their testimonies with us through these pages.
A solid book on Christian doctrine, this non seminary trained pastor has much to say to the lay person as well as to the clergy and all of us should listen.

Goosebumps and Challenges

If you read this book and it did not leave you convicted, convinced, touched, moved, challenged, changed, then I am surprised. This book gets to the core of what's important in churches, in lives. It pretty much cuts to the chase and does not drag out. It presses the importance of prayer as about the most important element in seeking, finding, and maintaining a relationship with God. It stresses the importance of faith and obedience.
Even though this book is the story of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, how it was started with humble and meager beginnings, and how it has grown abundantly, and how it continues to function today, the book tells about the aweness of God, and what is really important for churches and for people. It is not necessarily growth, but just bringing people to God and keeping them there. Prayer is the key to find and keep God in your life. Not growth quota numbers, not organized worship or agendas, but just praying and seeking and trusting God.
This book is a good guide for any church or any person. The inspiration, good advice, and good bumps it can give.
This book shows that everybody is welcome and wanted by God. Not just a certain type of people, nor do you have to be a certain way to be accepted. In fact, the Brooklyn Tabernacle ministers to everybody - even the homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes, etc.
There are a few case stories and examples in this book. Those are my favorite parts of the book - the testimonials. I love case stories. It is encouraging to see somebody's life turned around - some really drastically.
And I think maybe the best thing about reading this book is the challenge it gave me.

Fresh wind fresh fire, by Jim Cymbala Spanish version

I am not much of a book reader. But at the Christian book store when this was placed in my hand to glance at, I could not put in down and read it nearly with out stopping. The Holy Spirit worked in my life through Jim's openess. I reccomend all of Jim Cymbala's books! This copy is for Spanish speaking friends.
